Dr. Kyle A. Sinnigen has been part of the Sudbury Animal Hospital family since he was fourteen years old! He was born and raised in Sudbury and started working as a veterinary assistant as soon as he was able to. His parents, Jack Sinnigen and Betsy Allen Sinnigen, purchased the Sudbury Animal Hospital in 1987. From an early age, it was clear how much Dr. Sinnigen loved animals. Throughout his childhood, he had many beloved pets at home including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and fish. After graduating from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School in 2012, he attended the University of Maryland from 2012-2016. He graduated with a degree in Animal Sciences and enjoyed spending time with friends, and playing intramural sports (basketball, flag football) as a student.
After graduating from University of Maryland in 2016, he immediately enrolled at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM), with a focus on small animal medicine. While in school, he met his wife Dr. Angela who is also a veterinarian (34 years after his parents had met in veterinary school). Dr. Sinnigen and Dr. Angela graduated from VMCVM in 2020. Together, they share four rescue animals: Bandit, a Shetland Sheepdog, was adopted in Indiana from a local shelter while Dr. Angela was in college. He recently turned fourteen, and even though he has gone deaf and is losing his vision, he will still try to play fetch all day long. Chewbarka, or “Chewy”, an eight year-old lab/hound mix, was a foster fail from Dr. Angela’s foster program she helped coordinate during her time at VMCVM. Dr. Sinnigen and Dr. Angela both fell in love with his goofy personality. Ted, an eight-year old domestic shorthair, was also a foster fail! He is a loveable grump that has encountered numerous health issues throughout his short life, and likes to keep his parents on their toes! Finally, Tatum, a 2 year-old orange tabby was adopted in October 2023 from Buddy Dog Humane Society. Tatum had some unexpected medical complications and after Dr. Angela and Dr. Sinnigen nursed him back to health, they knew he was the missing piece to their furry collection. He is everything they say about “orange cats” and has been a constant source of entertainment and trouble! Working alongside his parents and our other wonderful veterinarians and staff, Dr. Sinnigen started as an associate veterinarian in July 2020. After working for several years with Jack and Betsy, he purchased the practice in January 2025 following their retirement. As the veterinary world continues to become consumed by large, corporate practices, Dr. Sinnigen is very passionate about maintaining the family owned, personalized business model that is becoming harder and harder to find. His medical interests include shelter medicine, allergy management, and hospice care. Watching our pets become ill towards the end of their lives is not easy, but Dr. Sinnigen understands the importance of maximizing animal comfort and quality of life while helping their owners manage them at home. Outside of work, Dr. Sinnigen enjoys golfing, skiing, spending time with friends and family, cheering on the Patriots and Celtics, and any form of competition he can get involved in! |

Dr. Alexander (who goes by her nickname Jody) always loved working with animals, and she also enjoyed the diagnostic and scientific challenges of medicine. A career in veterinary medicine was the perfect way to combine her interests and passions in a fulfilling way! Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, Dr. Alexander majored in Classics at Amherst College. She then pursued her doctorate at the University of Michigan, where she realized that she'd rather be a veterinarian. She completed her Master's degree, then took pre-vet courses before heading to vet school at Tufts University. Sudbury Animal Hospital offered the perfect balance of excellent medicine with a personalized approach in a family-like setting, so she joined the team in 2008. When Kyle took over the practice in 2024, he invited her to help manage the medical side of the practice, and she's been enjoying her new role at the hospital. She is especially interested in managing Diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and hospice care. Dr. Alexander also works with a Kyle at home, her wonderful husband Kyle Johnson. Together, they have three amazing sons: Ethan, Tyler, and Drew. The family's pets include four Buddy Dog Humane Society rescues: Daphne, a black Golden Doodle who loves to roll in the dirt; Apollo, a mid-sized Golden Doodle who enjoys barking; Atticus, an orange cat who is the mayor of the house; and Lieutenant Dan, a 3-legged orange cat who enjoys destroying Jody's house plants. Outside of work, Dr. Alexander spends a lot of time attending track meets watching Drew and Tyler race. She's also an avid pickleball player, skier, and bike rider, having biked around France, Spain, and most of New England with her husband.

Dr. Jiseon Bae
Associate Veterinarian Growing up with many animals and having a strong interest in biology, it was natural for Dr. Bae to pursue veterinary medicine. She is a strong advocate for animal well-being and human-animal bond. Dr. Bae is especially interested in geriatric patient care, feline medicine and general surgery. She and her husband, David, have a son, Ethan, and has a Shetland Sheep dog, Mochi. They are hoping to adopt a cat missing the days when they had cats. On her day off, you can often find her walking her dog in a neighborhood or playing a soccer with her son and Mochi. |

Dr. Angela Durkac
Associate Veterinarian Dr. Angela Durkac grew up in Yorktown, Virginia. She knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian and has always enjoyed working with many different species. She graduated from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a special love for surgery, ophthalmology, and fear-free handling.
Angela strives to make every visit as stress-free as possible for both pets and their owners. While she primarily treats small animals, she also works part time as a mixed animal veterinarian in Amesbury, MA treating horse, cows, goats, and sheep. She met her husband, Kyle, at veterinary school in Virginia, where he convinced her to brave the New England winters and move to Massachusetts. They own four furry troublemakers - two dogs and two cats - who ensure there is never a dull or hair-free moment. Angela is proud to be part of a family-run practice that cares deeply for every client, patient, and team member, and she is grateful to work in a place that fosters such a supportive and growth-focused culture. |
