Amanda's family has been taking their own pets to Sudbury Animal Hospital since before Amanda was even born! When she heard a position was available at the hospital, she leapt at the opportunity! Now she's been a Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist here since May 2013.
Amanda grew up with her family in Stow. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Albion College in Michigan in 2012. After moving back home, she was hired as a dogwalker and doggie-daycare associate. After six months of working the job, she heard about the Sudbury position and immediately applied. At the clinic, Amanda simply enjoys making her furry patients happy. It makes her day if she can get a pet to wag a tail, do a trick, or roll over for a belly rub. She loves learning about animal medical care, which Sudbury Animal Hospital is a great environment for. Currently, Amanda lives in Millis with her husband, Rob, their cats, Ruby and Amy, and their dog, Barley. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys singing, hiking, relaxing with a good book, and socializing with her friends and coworkers |
Ever since Erica was a toddler, she has known she was an animal lover. Erica became very attached to her family’s retriever mix, Toby, and even learned to walk by grabbing onto his coat. She can’t imagine living without pets! Her childhood home in Arlington, MA was known as the local petting zoo, with a mix of dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs on hand. Needless to say, there were plenty of trips to the vet!
After high school, she worked at the Toy Shop of Concord and got to know the local community as well as surrounding towns. Looking for a way to combine her interests in animals and in science and medicine, she enrolled in the veterinary technician program at North Shore Community College in Danvers in 2014. As part of Erica’s education she did an externship at Sudbury Animal Hospital where she got practical training with tasks like taking xrays, laboratory work, and surgical prep and treatment. She loved working with her coworkers and our patients, and was delighted to join the Sudbury Animal Hospital community. She currently lives in New Hampshire with her husband Matt and their English Bulldogs, Gus and Ellie. Erica likes to spend her free time with family, and particularly enjoys spending time on the water and on the slopes. |
Melanie's father was always very open to letting her have different animals growing up. Her variety of pets as a kid instilled in her a great love for animal care and compassion, and now she cares for pets daily as a Veterinary Technician.
Melanie grew up in Dracut, Massachusetts. Having previously worked in human resources at a car dealership, Melanie realized she wanted to start building her career in the veterinary world. She started working at the front desk at an animal hospital, then transitioned into a veterinary technician position at an animal emergency facility. Since the emergency setting wasn't for her, she began searching for opportunities in general practice. In July of 2012 she found Sudbury Animal Hospital, where she continues to learn new skills and advance her career. In 2020, Melanie has graduated with her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology. At home, Melanie lives with her husband, their two cats Fiona and Mable, and their dogs, Juno and Luna. Outside of work, Melanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, and going for walks or playing with Juno. |
Abbey grew up in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. From birth, her love of all animals was obvious, and it only grew over time. She went on to study Wildlife Science at Purdue University, where she was a proud member of the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band. She took internships raising lion cubs in South Africa, monitoring biodiversity in the Peruvian Amazon, as well as volunteering at various zoos. Despite all the unforgettable adventures, she just wasn't interested in pursuing a career in researching wildlife. Not knowing what to do after graduation, she took a trip to Sweden for a month, then came home to a message from boyfriend's mother saying that she had talked to her veterinarian's office and gotten Abbey an interview. In August of 2015, Abbey started working at Sudbury Animal Hospital, where she fell in love with veterinary medicine and looks forward to going to work each day! In 2020, Abbey earned her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology.
Abbey now lives in Ashland with her husband Alex, their goofy cat Dunkin, and their adorable pug Georgie. In her free time, Abbey loves to travel as much as possible, cheer on the Patriots and her beloved Purdue Boilermakers, take long walks with Georgie, and watch lots of movies. |
Before she worked at Sudbury Animal Hospital, Danielle was a client. She brought her grandparents' pets here and always loved the experience. She figured working at the clinic would be just as enjoyable, and she jumped at the chance when she saw an opening in the newspaper!
Danielle grew up in Natick, Massachusetts, in a house that was always full of pets. After graduating college, Danielle couldn't help responding to the opportunity to work at the animal hospital she'd always brought pets to. As a receptionist, she loves keeping things organized, helping clients, and working closely with her fellow employees. Danielle now lives in Holliston with her husband, Lee, and their son, Steven. The family has many pets, including dogs named Chief and Dega, and two inseparable cats, Bookem' and Sassafrass. Danielle spends most of her free time with her husband and son. She's enjoying watching her son change into a little man every day! |

BRENDAN
VETERINARY ASSISTANT Brendan was born and raised right here in Sudbury MA. Growing up he always had an affinity for dogs. He would visit with his neighbor’s pets and ask for his own dog every Christmas. At age 8, he got his first dog and his passion for training and caring for animals began. While in high school, he volunteered at a local animal shelter. After high school, Brendan worked at a local boarding facility while studying animal behavior. He became a certified Dog Obedience trainer through Animal Behavior College. After certification, Brendan began working at a local shelter caring for and training dogs without homes. His passion quickly became working with fearful and shy dogs, to help them feel loved and safe. Brendan became interested in working in veterinary medicine while accompanying the shelter pets for their medical appointments. This exposure led him to pursue working in an animal hospital. Brendan continues his volunteer work at area shelters and is available for private obedience lessons. |
